Britney Spears To Star On Broadway?

A source declared: "The producers are willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen."

According to late news, the pop princess Britney Spears is in negotiation to make her debut on Broadway, in the current revival of "Sweet Charity."

Access Hollywood published yesterday an article which claims the pop singer, 24, is in deep talks with the producers of the show, to replace actress Christina Applegate. The producers are so anxious to sign Spears, that they offered her husband Kevin Federline a part as well.

The entertainment program also reports that "producers are reportedly very much interested in Britney and are willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen."

According to the official "Sweet Charity" site, Emmy Award winner Christina Applegate stars in a dazzling new Broadway production of this smash hit musical.

Directed by Walter Bobbie (a Tony Award winner for Broadway's runaway hit Chicago) and choreographed by Wayne Cilento (Wicked, Aida), SWEET CHARITY has a hilarious book by none other than Neil Simon.

And the classic score (by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields) features such hits as "Hey, Big Spender" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now."
