Microsoft Faces Trial for Xbox 360 "Faulty Design"

Robert Byers claims that Microsoft released a console with a flawed design

An American from Chicago sued Microsoft after buying one of the company's Xbox 360, claiming the console has some problems which cause it to overheat and even stop responding.

Robert Byers claims that Microsoft, in its haste to get the Xbox 360 console before their rivals on the console market, released a console with a flawed design.

Sony and Nintendo are set to release their PlayStation 3 and Revolution consoles in 2006.

The American said Xbox's power supply and CPU overheat affecting the device's performance and even causing it to hang at times.

Last week, Microsoft announced they received reports that some of their newly released Xbox 360 consoles are not working as expected.

"So, the Xbox 360's been available for, what, 15 minutes, and already the crash reports are streaming in," said a poster on Engadget.

According to Microsoft officials, the calls and reports received represent only a small fraction of the units sold. They added that the owners of Xbox 360 units that are experiencing system crashes should call 1-800-4MY-XBOX.
