UPDATE: Jessica Simpson Wants To Change Her Divorce Judge

This Is Only A Formality Though

Singer and newly actress Jessica Simpson filled a petition at the Los Angeles court, wanting to change the judge which will be in charged with the case.

Simpson, 26, who filled the divorce papers on Nov 23, citing irreconcilable differences and asking the Superior Court not to grant Lacey spousal support, requested Judge Michael Lindfield to be replaced because he is biased.

The papers, obtained by US news show Extra, says: "The Judge is prejudiced against Petitioner (Jessica Simpson) and/or Petitioner's attorney. He and/or Petitioner cannot have a fair and impartial trial."

However, it seems that this is only a formality, because the future ex-couple want their case to be handled by a private judge.

Simpson and Nick officially announced their divorce after three years of marriage and months of denials and rumors, stating: "After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways."
