Motley Crue Gets His Own Hollywood Star On The Walk Of Fame

This is a perfect place for us to be," bassist Nikki Sixx declared.

American heavy metal band Motley Crue celebrated today their own Hollywood star of the legendary Walk of Fame.

Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, and Vince Neil attended the ceremony in front of the Musicians Institute, thanking their fans ( around 600), who gathered to see the event.

"We're across the street from the Erotica Museum and Frederick's of Hollywood. This is a perfect place for us to be," bassist Nikki Sixx declared.

Motley Crue was formed in 1981, in Los Angeles, after bassist Nikki Sixx left the band London, a band he and Lizzie Grey started in 1979 after he was fired from Blackie Lawless' band Sister. The band London is also the first band for Guns N' Roses guitarists Izzy Stradlin and Slash as well as Cinderella drummer Fred Coury.

The band have sold 40 million albums and their hits includes singles such as 'Girls Girls Girls, 'Smokin' in the Boys Room' and 'Dr Feelgood'.
