Coldpay And Bruce Springsteen To Perform At This Year's Grammy Awards

Coldplay received three nominations, while Springsteen currently is up for five Grammy Awards

British pop/rock band Coldplay and singer Bruce Springsteen will join the list of celebrities scheduled to perform at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards.

Coldplay received three nominations, including best rock song ("Speed of Sound") and best rock album ("X&Y"). Coldplay's third album, X&Y, was released on 6 June 2005 in the UK. The lead single "Speed of Sound", made its radio and online music store debut on 18 April and was released as a CD on 23 May 2005.

The album debuted at #1 in 28 countries worldwide and was the second fastest selling album in UK chart history (behind the 1997 Oasis album Be Here Now). Two other singles were released that year by the Brit quartet: "Fix You" in September and "Talk" in December.

Springsteen currently is up for five Grammy Awards, including Song Of The Year, Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Long Form Music Video ("Devils & Dust"); and Best Contemporary Folk Album (Devils & Dust).

The music industry's premier event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at www.grammy.yahoo.com.

Among the stars which will perform to this year's event are: Kanye West and John Legend - who both have eight nominations; U2, Mary J. Blige, Faith Hill, Keith Urban, Jamie Foxx with Kanye West, Christina Aguilera, Herbie Hancock, Hezekiah Walker & Love Fellowship Choir with Mariah Carey.
