Britney Spears Will Appear on Will & Grace

This will be the first time Spears plays someone other than herself in primetime.

The pop princess Britney Spears will join the long list of celebrities which guest-starred the successful NBC's TV sitcom Will & Grace, as a conservative Christian.

Spears, 24, who recently gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Sean Preston, will play a Christian conservative sidekick to Jack (Sean Hayes) on the episode "Jack Talk," set to air on Thursday, April 13.

According to reports, in the episode, the gay 'Out TV' network is bought by a Christian television station and Spears is brought in to play Sean Hayes' character Jack's new religious co-host.

Will & Grace is an American television situation comedy focusing on Will Truman, a gay attorney and his best friend Grace Adler, a straight Jewish woman who runs her own interior design firm. The show takes place in New York City.

The show debuted on the NBC network on 1998-09-21, and steadily gained in popularity, culminating when it moved to Thursday night as part of NBC's Must See TV lineup. Since the sixth season, however, the show's ratings have declined.

In July 2005, it was confirmed that the eighth season would also be the last season of the show. The final season premiere on 2005-09-29, was broadcast live. According to NBC Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly, the final espisode will air 2006-05-18 with an hour-long show, coupled with a "look back" retrospective hour.
