Police Drops Charges Against Britney Spears

Police stated, "Unless a deputy saw the violation, there's nothing we can do."

According to late news, Britney Spears will not face the charges of child molestation, for driving with her four-month baby boy Sean on her lap, police says.

Early this week, Spears was photographed driving down the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California with her baby on her lap, and accompanied by a bodyguard. The photos raised the attention of the local Department of Children and Family Services, and police was send to investigate.

In the end, Britney got off the hook explaining that she was only protecting her baby from paparazzi photographers. In an interview broadcast on Thursday by the TV show, "Access Hollywood" Britney said: "I made a mistake and so it is what it is, I guess. Being put in the situation that I was in, it was kind of bad with the paparazzi."

Police closed the case stating: "Unless a deputy saw the violation, there's nothing we can do."

Spears' personal life has attracted considerable media attention, ever since she became famous. Some people feel she has courted it by cultivating, in her early years at least, a chaste, God-fearing and "wholesome" image.
