Money Dispute Between Nick Lachey And Jessica Simpson

Lachey Is Demanding Spousal Support

According to divorce papers Nick Lachey is demanding spousal support from his future ex-wife Jessica Simpson.

In the papers filed last week by Lachey at Los Angeles court, the star cited irreconcilable differences for the split and asks for jewelry and other personal effects, People magazine reported.

But it seems there is a little misunderstanding in the official papers Simpson and Lacey completed.

Nick cited December 13 as the separation date while Jessica's papers say November 23. The difference between the dates is significant because Simpson earned nearly $1 million during the disputed weeks, and part of them might be claimed by Lachey.

Things might get nasty between them because Jessica and Nick have no prenup. The two were so committed to each other they refused to make any legal settlements, although Lachey reportedly had the papers drawn up by a lawyer before they wed, when Nick was more famous than Simpson.

Now Jessica is the one worth million of dollars, grossing $35 million dollars alone last year, and Nick might get half of the joint $50 million fortune, unless they reach a settlement.
