'Godfather' Star Richard Bright Killed By Tour Bus

Police Is Investigating The Accident

Richard Bright, best known for his role as Corleone family's bodyguard in all three "Godfather" movies, died in a buss accident, at the age of 68, Sunday magazine reported.

The actor was hit by a tour-bus on the Upper West Side, but the driver was unaware of that he hit Bright with his rear wheel, until he reached the Port Authority.

Bright was rushed to the St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, but doctors confirmed that he was already dead when he arrived there.

Police made no charges yet but they are still investigating the case.

Bright is best known for his part in Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of "The Godfather" as Al Neri, one of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino)'s caporegimes. Bright also turned up as Neri in both of that film's two sequels in which he murdered both John Cazale's Fredo Corleone at the end of the Godfather II, and also the Vatican banker, Archbishop Gilday, at the Vatican at the end of Godfather III.

He also appeared in a wide range of films including "Once Upon A Time In America," "Rancho Deluxe", "Marathon Man", "Looking For Mister Goodbar", as well as TV series "Law & Order," "Third Watch" and "The Sopranos."
