US Open: Andreea Vanc Qualified For Second Stage
This Year's US Open Has Total Prizes Of 18.3 Million Dollars
Romanian player Andreea Vanc and her Czechoslovak team mate Eva Birnerova qualified in the second tour of US Open. Vanc and Birnerova beat the team Lourdes Dominguez Lino / Nuria Llagostera Vives, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In the second stage, the Romanian/Czech team will meet Svetlana Kuznetova/Alicia Molik. In the fist round Kuznetova and Molik won against Evghenia Linetkaia/Galina Voskoboeva (7-6, 6-2).
Man teams Jan Hernych/Vincent Spadea beat Andrei Pavel/Rainer Schuettler (7-6, 6-2). Romanian team Victor Hanescu and Razvan Sabau will face, on Thursday, Justin Gimelstob (SUA)/Mariano Hood (Argentina).
