South African paparazzi, John Liebenberg, who was arrested in Namibia for trying to photograph pregnant superstar Angelina Jolie and her lover Brad Pitt, was released on warning.
The photographer was arrested last weekend for allegedly going to a private hospital in the Namibian port town of Walvis Bay on a tip-off that Jolie had been rushed there to have her baby.
Liebenberg pleaded guilty when he appeared in the Magistrate's Court, and was released on a warning after three days in jail.
Magistrate Sarel Jacobs said in his judgment: "It might be that you are a foreigner and that you were arrested for trespassing, [but] why was it necessary to keep you in custody for the whole weekend? I don't understand that and I think it was unnecessary."
Liebenberg thinks that his arrest was officials way to give an exemple to paparazzi press.
"They probably wanted to make an example of me to the other so-called nasty paparazzi press. But we have been very respectful to [Pitt and Jolie]," he claimed.
