BCR Open Romania 2005 - 300,000 EUR Tournament In Bucharest, Romania

Tennis players like Mariano Puerta (world #10, Roland-Garros finalist, wild-card) David Ferrer (world #11, winner in 2002), Olivier Rochus (world #24), Filippo Volandri (world #31), Juan Ignacio Chela (world #36) and Jose Acasuso (world #39, winner in 2004) will attend to this year's BCR Open Romania 2005, on 12-18 September. Four Romanian players are on the main board: Andrei Pavel (world #71, wild card), Razvan Sabau (world #123), Victor Hanescu (world #34) and Victor Crivoi. Others Romanian players will come to the qualifying rounds (10-11 September).Puerta is the favorite this year.

This year, the ticket price is 5 RON on Monday, 50 RON Tuesday, 10 RON for Wednesday and Thursday and 15 RON for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday a demonstrative mach between Ilie Nastase and Mansour Bahrami will take place.

The tournament winner will receive 35 ATP points and a check of 44,100 EUR, and the finalist 24 ATP points and 26,000 EUR. Semifinalists will be rewarded with 15 ATP points and 15,300 EUR.

The tournament managers, Bogdan Enoiu, Dumitru Haradau and Cosmin Hodor, hope than Romanian phome company Connex will be again among the tournament sponsors and will organize events like Kid's Day, when kids will have the opportunity to play against champions like Ivanisevic and Muster, as well as a journalist's tournament.

Ion Tiriac suggested that future incomes from the final game to be donated to charity purposes. Tiriac also said that he will be in the stands in the three days he will be in Bucharest.
