Robert Scoble, Microsoft Key Figure, Exits To Start-Up

Blogger and corporate figure Robert Scoble, admitted to leave Microsoft in order to develop PodTech.net, a Silicon Valley startup.

Robert Scoble will join PodTech as Content VP, but leaves kind words behind, for his ex-coworkers:

"I love Microsoft and Microsoft did not lose me -- at least as a supporter and friend. It is the best big company in the world."

Regarding the news of his leave from Microsoft, Robert Scoble commented:

"It got out before I was completely ready to talk about it."

Scoble is believed to have been offered a +100 thousand salary as well as a considerable stock option:

"If we make this thing fly, I make more money than I would at Microsoft. If it fails, I don't."

PodTech was founded in May 2005 by CEO John Furrier. Furrier has over two decades experience in the computer and Internet business including positions in engineering, sales, and marketing at IBM and Hewlett Packard. Prior to PodTech, Furrier was founder of BroadDev Corporation, broadband, new media and venture development company. Before BroadDev, he was in executive management positions with RealNames and Labrador Software. Furrier holds an MBA from Babson College and a BS in Computer Science from Northeastern University.

PodTech has more than 15 corporate clients including Intel, Juniper, Yahoo, Symantec, and nVidia.
