Epitiro, a Customer Experience Management solutions provider for Internet access services, appointed BT as best ADSL ISP, closely followed by Virgin, DEMON, AOL, and Orange.
Epitiro said through a managing director that "consumer ADSL testing found that in terms of Internet performance, BT topped the overall rankings for the period April to June 2006. BT was also found to provide the fastest service as a percentage of its theoretical maximum. Virgin, BT, and AOL were the fastest services to actually connect to the Internet, while Pipex, Orange and BT were up to four times faster than the industry average at delivering email."
"As well as monitoring service reliability, [our software] provides real-time data on the speed of internet connections, how long it takes to connect to the internet, the performance of email services, file upload and download speeds and performance of both PING and DNS lookup - and all from the customer's perspective." (Epitiro announcement)
Epitiro conclusions do not match those of rival ADSLguide, which considered Demon to be the top-ranking ADSL ISP of the beginning of 2006's analysis.
