Jessica Simpson Not Dating John Mayer

Both Jessica Simpson and John Mayer denied recent rumors claiming that they were dating.

"I think I'm too hard to be in love with, it ends up on the cover of every magazine. I scare people away," complained Jessica Simpson.

Suspicions referring to a possible romance were spread by People and US Weekly. According to People Magazine Jessica Simpson was actually declaring with content: "I'm in love!"

However the 26-year-old singer appearing in the television show "The View", saying she has nobody to love for now: "I wish I was in love, I need to be in love."

John Mayer, who is currently preparing to release an album, said recent rumors have nothing to do with reality:

"There are real crises in the world; there are people who are fighting to keep their house warm and I'm not going to sit here and bite my nails because someone says that I might possibly have gone a date with a beautiful blond girl," John told "Access Hollywood".

The rocker also pointed out that his supposed relationship with Jessica Simpson is not a marketing scheme as he refuses this kind of publicity:

"In my mind, that's cheating."

Jessica Simpson ended her three years marriage to Nick Lachey in November 2005.

"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," the two declared for Teen People Magazine shortly after the split.

Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson had their own reality show, "Newlyweds" broadcasted by MTV.
