Samsung Presents SPH-P9000, A 3-Way Folding Communication Device

No price details were offered by Samsung for the PDA-like SPH-P9000, although it will be launched in Korea in the first half of 2007.

SPH-P9000, the new Samsung phone/PC/media player suits those living mobile while connected at the same time.

The company displayed the three-fold device, dubbed MITs, at the Mobile WiMax conference.

The Mobile Intelligent Terminal by Samsung (MITs) comes with a 5-inch WVGA display, 30GB HDD, Windows XP OS, foldable keyboard, Mobile WiMAX and CDMA 1x EV-DO support. Also present are features like Bluetooth, 1.3Mpx Camera, MiniUSB 24 pin connector, extended I/O Pack, and a 2980mAh / 7200mAh Battery.

WiMax supporters include Samsung, Intel, Sprint Nextel, and Motorola. While South Korea is already testing WiMax, Sprint Nextel only stated its intention of installing some WiMax networks by the end of 2007.

Kitae Lee, President of the Telecommunication Network Business at Samsung Electronics:
