Steaua's Tiberiu Curt refuses to leave.

After one year off the field, The defender wants to do his job and play on the first 11.

After an injury suffered in 2004 that held the defender off the field, Tiberiu Curt wants to stay to become an important player for Steaua, a big Romanian club.

The defender, 30, played only 18 official games for Steaua because he suffered injury after injury.

In the summer of 2004, a meniscus problem put him out of the soccer field for one year, and in January 2005 when he was ready to play, his medical problem returned on a practice game.

Several injuries made an extremely appreciated defender, called several times to the National Romanian team, into an official bystander.

Now, despite his good physical condition, Steaua's defense works extremely well and another two defenders are waiting for a place in the team.

"I train every day with the team and I want to become again a player in the first team" said Tiberiu.

He is hoping that coach Oleg Protasov will give him a chance. His contract with Steaua expires next year and he refuses to think about leaving the Romanian club.
