CBS Denies There Was Intention Behind Jackson's Boob Flashing

CBS attorney said no intention backed famous Janet Jackson's boob flashing at the Super Bowl.

CBS claims it was involved by no means in the 2004 Super Bowl "accident," when Janet Jackson's breast "escaped."

CBS attacked the FCC, which fined the network with more than half a million dollars. lawyers say the FCC hasn't managed to "turn up even a shred of evidence suggesting that anyone at CBS participated," while also insisting that until that event, "fleeting, isolated or unintended" scenes were not labeled indecent without analysis.

On the other hand, according to the FCC, CBS "continues to ignore the voices of millions of Americans, Congress and the commission by arguing that Janet Jackson's halftime performance was not indecent ... we continue to believe they are wrong."

CBS labeled the boob-flashing mishap as "unscripted, unauthorized and unintended long-distance shot of Ms. Jackson's breast for nine-sixteenths of one second."

History

During the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXVIII on February 1, 2004, Jackson performed with Justin Timberlake to an audience of close to 100 million people.

During this live performance, in which Jackson sang along with Timberlake his song "Rock Your Body", when they got to the part of the song which goes "gonna have you naked by the end of this song", her top was torn open by Timberlake, exposing Jackson's right breast; the nipple was partially covered by a starburst-shaped decoration held in place by a barbell piercing.

Timberlake called the incident a "wardrobe malfunction."
