Trent Yawney Leaves Chicago Blackhawks

Trent Yawney is no longer coaching the Chicago Blackhawks due to the teams' latest failure. Assistant Denis Savard will replace Trent Yawney.

"The bottom line is wins and losses, and we need to win more. We've had some injuries, but in spite of that we're a better team than our record shows," said Chicago Blackhawks's manager, Dale Tallon, in a statement posed on the team's official web-site.

Chicago Blackhawks have only three victories in their last fifteen games.

Denis Savard, who has been an assistant coach for the Blackhawks since 1997, stated:" We're not happy over the last few years as far as our win-loss record is concerned. The players have to share that responsibility. But we're looking to move forward and go in a new direction. I've always wanted to be a head coach. The circumstances are not the greatest because when you take over for somebody midseason it means things did not go as well as we all expected."

Denis Savard, who played seventeen years for Chicago and scored 473 goals during his career as a player, is now preparing the team for its game with Dallas expected to take place on Wednesday.
