Dell Facing Lawsuit For Sale of Malfunctioning Laptops

Customers claim older Dell Inspirons prove tendency to overheating and crashing motherboards.

Papers filed in Ontario Superior Court claim motherboards of Dell laptops overheat and crash just after warranty period.

This was started by a person that bought a Dell Inspiron laptop, says the Associated Press.

Inspirons 1100/1150/5100/5150 and 5160 are accused of being designed poorly, leading to a premature "death."

In 2006, Fortune magazine placed Dell 8th on its annual list of the most-admired companies in the United States, looks like Dell will have trouble keeping its place.

In 2006 Dell and Sony recalled +4.2mln laptop cells after finding out that they were prone to overheating and catching fire, which alerted other notebook producers, leading to a recall of over 9.6mln Sony laptop cells.
