Sony PSP Now Available At $170

Sony announced that the PSP will have its price cut to $170, in an effort to better rival Nintendo's DS and determine more people to buy PSP

This is Sony PSP's first price cut since its launch two years ago (03.2005). Poor sales in Q4 2006 as well as costs with PS3's launch seem to have forced Sony to revise its prices.

The discount will improve Sony PSP's strengths against rivals like Nintendo Game Boy and Nintendo DS. Hopefully more people will opt to buy Sony PSP instead of competitors.

The DS apparently led the way to exceptional sales at Nintendo, with the games console market seeing Wii as best seller (335,000 units), next came Microsoft Xbox 360 (228,000 units) and Sony's PlayStation 3 (or PS3 with 127,000 units).
