Although the trial regarding the Romanian Open tennis arena is still in court, the allegations towards its current owner, Ion Tiriac, keep coming.
The former owner, Anghel Dragan attacked Tiriac, ex-president of the Romanian Olympic Committee, in a radio show on Total Sport FM saying, "This man didn't bring anything to Romania. He took things outside Romania. And he's calling himself a patriot. This tourney had a name. Everything was handed to him on a silver platter. He didn't invest anything."
He also said that, a while ago the tour already was "a success" and that everybody was "encouraging" the Romanian Open. "Tiriac ruined the Brasov tourney. He, the grand patriot, only sees the money. He doesn't invest unless he profits."
Anghel Dragan was unable to bring any evidence to these allegations.
