Kimi Räikkönen to win Turkish Grand Prix

Kimi Rдikkцnen has taken the victory in the first ever grand prix held in Turkey.

August 21, 2005 Istanbul Turkey.

Kimi Räikkönen has taken the victory in the first ever grand prix held in Turkey.

Starting from pole position he only had to let the Renault pass him in the first round, but after that he clearly showed that he is going for the championship this year. Although he is still 24 points behind leader Fernando Alonso there is still a reasonable chance he can bring home the 2005 F1 Champion title this year.

Things were looking excellent until the last lap when the two McLaren-Mercedes drivers Kimi and Juan Pablo Montoya had position 1 and 2 in their pockets. But an error on behalf of Juan Pablo Montoya gave Fernando Alonso position 2 just a few seconds before the end of the race.
