Jennifer Lopez The New Cover Girl For Pirelli

Jenny From The Block Is the New Star Of Next Year’s Pirelli Calendar

Pop star Jennifer Lopez will be the next cover girl for the 2006 Pirelli calendar. The pictures for the cover were made on the French Riviera and will be unveiled in Paris on November 18.

The calendar will also include pictures of Kate Moss, although other major companies like Channel, H&M, Burberry and jewellery company H. Stern dropped the supermodel's ad campaigns.

Pirelli UK's communications manager, Julie Naylor stated for the Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "There was no chance that Kate would have been dropped from the calendar. We decided to stick with her because professionally she has always been great for us and a wonderful ambassador. What she does in her private life is no concern of ours."

The Pirelli Calendar is an annual publication that belies its origin in 1964 as merely a trade calendar published by the Pirelli company's UK subsidiary.

Appearance on the calendar has become a mark of distinction for those photographic models that are chosen, as well as for the photographers commissioned to produce the images used. Over the years, the calendar included pictures of Selma Blair, Lauren Bush, Naomi Campbell, Rachel Leigh Cook, Cindy Crawford, Milla Jovovich, Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Brittany Murphy, Amy Smart and Julia Stiles.
