Apple Computer announced that its iTunes video counter reached 1 million since it started counting, on October 12.
"Selling 1 million videos in less than 20 days strongly suggests there is a market for legal video downloads," said Apple's Chief Executive Officer, Steve Jobs.
"Our next challenge is to broaden our content offerings, so that customers can enjoy watching more videos on their computers and new iPods."
The company didn't yet say how many video iPods were sold, but it appears they simply aren't enough to meet the market demand, as it usually takes five to seven business days to fill online orders.
The iTunes Music Store allows iPod users to browse through more than 2,000 music videos and TV shows at a price of $1.99 per video. The videos include music videos, Pixar short animation videos and a few ABC shows from Walt Disney, including "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives".
After the announcement, Apple's shares rose 5.7%, to $57.59 by market close on Oct. 31.
